Questions before you choose a plan
Which Virtual Receptionist plan should I choose?
Start with Starter if you mainly need every call answered, messages captured, and simple transfers. Choose Scale if you want the AI to text callers, book appointments, sync with your CRM, and route to more external numbers. Choose Growth if you need longer calls, a larger knowledge base, advanced flows, or multi-step workflows.
Can Dialbox sound human enough?
Yes. Dialbox is designed for natural, two-way conversations. When you sign up, you'll hear a sample of the actual voice we use to handle your calls. You'll be the judge.
What if Dialbox can't handle more complex questions or requests?
Dialbox excels at handling common inquiries and tasks that make up the majority of business calls. For more complex situations, Dialbox can take a detailed message or transfer calls to your team. This hybrid approach gives you the best of both worlds: AI efficiency for routine matters and human expertise when it counts.
My business is unique, will this actually work for me?
Dialbox is highly customizable. You can edit prompts, FAQs, personalize greetings, and train the AI on your business. We serve businesses across dozens of industries, from law firms to home services to healthcare, and our onboarding process ensures Dialbox is tailored to your specific requirements.
Is it worth the price? Can it really deliver ROI?
Many customers see ROI within the first month. Because fewer calls go unanswered, businesses book more appointments. One plumbing business reported 20% more bookings in their first month. Others save thousands annually compared to hiring after-hours staff. You also get the value of fewer missed sales opportunities and more focused time for your team.
How do I know if this actually saves time or just creates more work?
Setup takes under 20 minutes, and the system requires minimal management afterward. Most customers spend under 5 minutes per week reviewing call summaries. Far less time than managing phone calls directly. If you ever get stuck, the built-in AI support chat knows your account setup and gives recommendations based on your actual settings.
Is Dialbox supposed to replace a human receptionist?
Dialbox is designed to complement your existing team. It handles overflow calls, after-hours inquiries, and peak time support. Many businesses use Dialbox alongside their reception team to ensure no call goes unanswered.
Are there any usage limits?
Virtual Receptionist plans include truly unlimited inbound caller minutes. No per-minute fees, no overage charges. The only limit is per-call duration: Starter and Scale plans allow 10 minutes per inbound call, Growth allows 20 minutes. Business Phone includes unlimited domestic calling to the USA and Canada. Campaigns are priced separately by plan.
How does Dialbox protect my business data and caller information?
All calls and data are encrypted in transit and at rest. Dialbox is built to support PIPEDA compliance in Canada and CCPA compliance in the United States. Call recordings and transcripts are stored securely, and you control retention settings. We never sell your data.
What are add-ons and do I need one?
You can use Virtual Receptionist without add-ons. Add-ons are for more specific setups: Additional External Routing adds more non-Dialbox transfer destinations, Front Desk Kiosk turns a tablet into a visitor check-in station, and Additional Locations let Scale and Growth accounts run multiple branches with separate numbers, hours, services, calendars, and transfer destinations. Front Desk Kiosk is a Receptionist add-on and does not have its own onboarding entry point.
What is an Additional Location, and why not just use an FAQ or a Flow?
Three different tools for three different jobs. An FAQ entry is prose the agent reads back as text, so the caller has to ask the right question to get branch details. A Flow is a guided script for when a conversation needs to branch. An Additional Location is a real second branch with its own phone number, structured hours, services, calendars, and validated transfers. The agent auto-detects which branch a caller reached and answers as that branch. Use a flow when the conversation needs to branch. Use a location when the business has a branch.
How much is an Additional Location, and which plans support it?
Additional Locations are available on Scale and Growth. Scale is $54 CAD per location per month, or $540/yr CAD on annual billing, and gives you a real second branch with dedicated number, hours, services, booking calendar, and transfer destinations. Growth is $109 CAD per location per month, or $1092/yr CAD on annual billing, and adds per-location conversation flow, agent persona, and knowledge-base scoping so each branch sounds distinctly like itself. Starter plans do not include additional locations. Upgrade to Scale to add a branch.
Can I change my plan after signing up?
Absolutely. You can switch between Starter, Scale, and Growth at any time during your 7-day trial and beyond. Your trial period continues as normal when you switch. Just pick the plan that looks right and adjust later if needed.
What happens when my free trial ends?
You'll be moved to the plan you selected during signup. You can change plans or cancel at any time from your dashboard. We'll send you a reminder before your trial ends so there are no surprises.

Know what you are buying
Can I buy Business Phone without Virtual Receptionist?
Yes. Business Phone can be used as a standalone phone system for team calling, texting, voicemail, IVR, extensions, SIP desk phones, hold, and transfer. AI Receptionist plans include one primary business number and one included owner/admin phone user, but do not include the full Business Phone system unless Business Phone is added. Self-serve onboarding is not open yet, so request access and we will confirm availability.
Can I keep my existing business number?
Yes. You can port an existing number into Dialbox or choose a new local number. Business Phone also supports toll-free numbers as an add-on. If you later add Virtual Receptionist, your number, contacts, call logs, staff, extensions, SMS history, and voicemail history can stay with the account.
Does Business Phone include live AI answering?
No. Business Phone gives your team a modern business phone system. Add Virtual Receptionist when you want AI to answer live inbound calls, book appointments, qualify callers, or transfer callers based on intent.
Can my team use desk phones or work remotely?
Yes. Your team can call and text from the Dialbox app and use SIP desk phones when needed. Business Phone works for office, remote, and mobile teams that need one business number with extensions and shared call history.
What is AI Voicemail?
AI Voicemail is an optional Business Phone add-on for missed calls. It collects a better voicemail by asking clarifying questions, then sends your team a useful summary. It does not answer live calls or replace Virtual Receptionist.

Early details
How are Campaigns priced?
Campaigns Starter is $59 CAD/month or $588/yr CAD/year for manual or scheduled warm customer campaigns. Campaigns Pro is $129 CAD/month or $1290/yr CAD/year for automated CRM or event-triggered warm customer campaign workflows with higher limits. Campaigns are not for cold outreach. Self-serve checkout still needs wiring.
Will outbound calls work with SMS?
Yes. The product direction is AI calling plus SMS follow-up from the same customer context, so your team is not running separate phone and text campaigns.
Can I use Campaigns for cold calling?
No. Campaigns are for warm existing-customer calling and SMS campaigns only, not cold outreach.
What happens if someone asks not to be contacted?
Campaigns are being built with automatic opt-out handling. If someone replies STOP by text or says they do not want more calls, Dialbox will add that contact to your Do Not Contact list so future campaigns skip them.
Will Campaigns handle compliance rules?
Campaigns are being built with CASL requirements in Canada and TCPA requirements in the United States in mind, including opt-out handling, quiet hours, recording disclosure, existing-contact limits, and campaign audit history.
What happens if the customer does not answer?
The planned experience is voicemail detection with a professional message, followed by SMS when the campaign allows it. The goal is useful follow-up without repeated manual chasing from your team.

How team AI is priced
Is Assist the same as Virtual Receptionist?
No. Virtual Receptionist answers customer calls. Assist is for your staff. It helps them find answers, review customer context, get live support during calls, and trigger approved follow-up actions.
What can Assist actually do?
Assist can answer staff questions, search your knowledge base, look up customer details, check calendars, review recent calls and messages, surface email or document context, and work with connected business tools. It can also help staff send approved 1:1 texts or initiate customer calls when those permissions are enabled.
Do I need a license for every staff member?
No. Assist is priced per user, so only license the staff who need AI access. Assist Voice Station is priced per shared station for communal spaces.
Can Assist take actions, or does it only answer questions?
Assist is designed for both answers and actions. Depending on your setup, staff can check availability, find records, draft or send approved messages, initiate user-confirmed customer calls, save follow-ups, and update supported business systems.
Can Assist run campaigns?
No. Assist is for staff-initiated 1:1 work. Campaign and list automation belongs to Campaigns and requires the Campaigns product, compliance controls, and its own usage limits.
What is Assist Voice Station?
Assist Voice Station is a shared tablet-based voice terminal powered by Assist. Staff authenticate with a PIN and ask for business information by voice without needing their own device.
Is our business data safe in Assist?
Yes. Assist is designed to follow the same security model as Dialbox: data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access follows staff permissions, and your documents are not used to train AI models. Dialbox is PIPEDA compliant.
